Issues Frequently Addressed at Legendary Smiles Orthodontics

Generally speaking, orthodontic emergencies are rare and may require an additional visit to the office. Here are some issues you may experience with your braces:

  • Soreness In Teeth – Soreness after orthodontic treatment is a common side effect for many patients. Taking acetaminophen or other non-aspirin pain relievers is an option for you if you are experiencing discomfort.
  • Wire Irritation –If you are experiencing irritation from a metal wire from your braces, trying repositioning the wire with a Q-tip or the eraser of a pencil. If you are still experiencing discomfort, it is best to contact the office and schedule an appointment.
  • Loose Bracket – If a bracket becomes loose, the best course of action is to call our office and describe the problem. If you are having immediate discomfort, try positioning the wire or bracket so that it doesn’t come in contact with the inside of your mouth or use the wax provided in your brushing kit.
  • Lost Separator –  If you lose a separator during the course of your orthodontic treatment, please call our office, and we will guide you on the best course of action.
